Carnatic Singing - Advanced Level
Syllabus: Sangeeta Bala Padam – Volume 2
The Advanced Level Carnatic Singing Course is intended for students who have completed basic training and are ready to deepen their musical knowledge and performance ability. This course focuses on refinement, creativity, and advanced application of Carnatic music principles.
Based on Sangeeta Bala Padam – Volume 2, students explore advanced raga structures, detailed swara patterns, and complex compositions, developing greater control over voice modulation and gamakas. The course places strong emphasis on manodharma sangeetham, including alapana, kalpana swaras, and expressive singing techniques.
Students are trained to understand raga bhava, lyrical expression, and musical aesthetics, enabling them to sing with depth and emotion. Advanced tala concepts and rhythmic precision are reinforced, helping students perform with confidence in structured and semi-improvised formats.
Performance training is a key component of this level. Students are guided in stage presence, presentation skills, and concert readiness, making this course ideal for those aspiring toward certifications, public performances, or a serious musical journey.
By the end of the Advanced Level, students develop the musical maturity, confidence, and technical strength required for higher studies, performances, and long-term engagement with Carnatic music.
